Mountbatten building progress

Published: 9 January 2007

The Mountbatten project is now into its construction stage with the foundation piling underway and due for completion in early February. The construction of the pile caps, the underground drainage and the ground floor itself will commence on the 15th January and will be undertaken by Keen Construction, a local company.

The concrete frame sub-contract is currently being tendered and, once appointed, the successful contractor will commence on site at the beginning of March.

The bulk of the earth-moving will be completed by mid February. Bovis Lend Lease will take over from Costain the full responsibility for the site from mid-January as Management Contractors for the Contraction Phase of the Project.

Mountbatten will be completed in the summer of 2008 and it is anticipated that a foundation stone laying ceremony will be arranged for this spring.
