ORC student awarded SPIE prize

ORC PhD student Zsolt Sámson has been awarded an SPIE prize at the Ultrafast and Nonlinear Optics conference held recently in Bulgaria.

Zsolt was awarded 2nd place for the SPIE sponsored Student award for his talk entitled "Ultrafast control of surface plasmon propagation."

He is set to receive 150 USD, one-years free student membership to SPIE and 30 free downloads from the SPIE Digital library.

Zsolt is a member of the Nanophotonics and meta-materials group under the supervision of ORC Deputy Director Professor Nikolay Zheludev.
