About

Professor Anna C. Peacock is head of the Nonlinear Semiconductor Photonics group within the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC).  She obtained her BSc and MSc in Physics from The University of Auckland (New Zealand), before moving to the ORC to undertake a PhD in Nonlinear Fibre Optics. She was subsequently awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship, in recognition of her pioneering work on fiberized semiconductor photonic devices. Her research is currently focused on developing novel semiconductor waveguides, both fibre and planar technologies, for use in nonlinear optical applications.

Professor Peacock is a fellow of Optica (FOSA), the IEEE Photonics Society (FIEEE), the Institute of Physics (FInstP), and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the journal Optics Communications.
