A multifunctional, low threshold waveguide laser is demonstrated in Nd:Ti:LiNbO3. Tuning over 2.3nm has been observed using on-chip electro-optic modulators. Applying a sinusoidal modulation to the electrodes results in the formation of a train of 20ns pulses at rates of 1MHz and 120mW peak output power.

Abstract

A multifunctional, low threshold waveguide laser is demonstrated in Nd:Ti:LiNbO3. Tuning over 2.3nm has been observed using on-chip electro-optic modulators. Applying a sinusoidal modulation to the electrodes results in the formation of a train of 20ns pulses at rates of 1MHz and 120mW peak output power.
