On the possibility of soliton generation at 1.06 microns
The possibility of soliton generation in silica fibres at 1060 nm have been theoretically demonstrated by means of compensating the material dispersion by negative waveguide dispersion. Such fibres may be used for the creation of passively mode-locked soliton fibre lasers capable of generating sub-100 fs pulses in the region of maximum gain of Nd-glass lasers.
