We demonstrate an efficient cladding-pumped multi-element fiber comprising 4-Er/Yb-doped signal and 1-multimode pump fibers drawn together in a common coating. The signal fibers were cascaded to achieve a flat-gain (36±1dB) in the wavelength range 1544-1565nm.

Abstract

We demonstrate an efficient cladding-pumped multi-element fiber comprising 4-Er/Yb-doped signal and 1-multimode pump fibers drawn together in a common coating. The signal fibers were cascaded to achieve a flat-gain (36±1dB) in the wavelength range 1544-1565nm.
