Stimulated electronic Raman scattering as a tunable infra-red source
D.Cotter, D.C.Hanna, P.A.Karkkainen, R.Wyatt
Abstract
Stimulated electronic Raman scattering in potassium vapour has been used to produce tunable infrared radiation around 2.7 μm. A tuning range of ~1000 cm−1 has been observed with powers up to 1 kW. The Raman output has been used to obtain an absorption spectrum of CO2 gas with a resolution of better than 0.4 cm−1.
