Acousto-optic filters based on multi-tapered fibre structures

Acousto-optic filters based on multi-tapered fibre structures
Acousto-optic filters based on multi-tapered fibre structures
It is shown that the controlled multi-tapering of singlemode optical fibres can be considered as another degree of freedom in tailoring the spectral characteristics of dynamic acousto-optic filters. This results in optical filters with complex spectral responses, requiring only a single-frequency acoustic drive.

Abstract

It is shown that the controlled multi-tapering of singlemode optical fibres can be considered as another degree of freedom in tailoring the spectral characteristics of dynamic acousto-optic filters. This results in optical filters with complex spectral responses, requiring only a single-frequency acoustic drive.
