Dr Sam Berry

Research Staff

Sam joined the group in Dec 2014 as a research fellow in quantum technologies. He received obtained his BSc Physics degree from the University of Southampton in 2008 and then went on to obtain a PhD in Optoelectronics from the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), also at the University of Southampton. His PhD thesis investigated the way light travelled in photonic lightwave circuits by using an near-field tunnelling spectral analysis on optical planar waveguides. Sam was a research fellow in the Quantum, Light and Matter (QLM) group in Physics and Astronomy between 2012-2014 before returning to the ORC. He is working on devices made from lithium niobate.
