We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher of outstanding calibre to join our research program in the area of nonlinear silicon photonics. The position is funded by the EPSRC project ‘Integrated nonlinear silicon photonics: a route to smaller, faster, greener systems’ and will involve the design, fabrication and characterisation of a range of silicon fibre and silicon chip-based photonic devices.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow - Fibre-laser Pumped Diamond
Raman Lasers for Lidar and Clear Plastics Welding

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher of outstanding calibre to work on Fibre-laser pumped diamond Raman lasers for Lidar and clear plastics welding. This new three-year-long project is a collaboration with University of Strathclyde and industry, and is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. The project requires fibre lasers with unique properties at 1 and 2 μm in the cw as well as pulsed regime, for pumping of the diamond Raman lasers. Your primary role will be to research, build, and validate these fibre lasers.
