The founder and CEO of Fibre laser company Fianium, Dr. Anatoly Grudinin recently presented a prize of £1000 to ORC PhD student Nikita Daga.

Nikita was awarded the £1000 prize, sponsored by Fianium, for her poster entry into this year’s poster competition at the ORC’s annual Colloquium. Dr. Grudinin and ORC academics judged the competition and picked Nikita’s winning entry entitled “Adaptive femtosecond pulse generator for coherent control.”

Dr. Grudinin worked in the ORC from 1992 – 2003 before setting up Fianium, a highly successful fiber laser company focused on the development and volume manufacturing of ultrafast fiber lasers for bio-medical and industrial applications.
