DTU Fotonik is the Department of Communications, Optics & Materials at the Technical University of Denmark. We are internationally at the forefront of the developments in telecommunication - within optical as well as other communication technologies

The combined research at DTU Fotonik encompasses a broad spectrum of today’s telecom research, ranging from nanotechnology at one end to complicated network architecture at the other.

We deal with the design and characterization of new optical materials and components for communications systems. We develop new methods for transmissions and treatment of signals, and, finally, we optimize network building and administration.

DTU Fotonik represents a unique vertical integration of research activities in optical and communications technologies.
